Speed Conscience Standard
Many people speed unintentionally, either due to not knowing the speed limit for the road they are driving on or their mind wanders or they become distracted. The Speed Conscience is software that will inform drivers of the speed limit of the road they are travelling along* together with their current speed.
One of the main objectives of The Speed Conscience is to raise your awareness of the speed limit and your speed in a way that is sufficiently intrusive to make you aware, but not such that you will be irritated and annoyed and swith it off.

- The Speed Conscience is software that will run on a GPS enabled mobile phone or device. It will inform drivers of the speed limit of the road they are travelling on* together with their current speed. The Speed Conscience allows drivers to set a pre-defined tolerance at which it will alert the driver should the vehicle exceed this user defined speed tolerance. The Speed Conscience is designed to make drivers aware of their speed and the speed limit of the road they are travelling along.
You may not be aware that different types of vehicles have different speed limits for single carriageways, dual carriageways and motorways depending upon the type of vehicle. The Speed Conscience allows you to select what type of vehicle you are driving, and then displays the appropriate speed limit for that type of vehicle for the different category or road. The various types of vehicles that these different speed limits apply to are: - Cars & motorcycles (including car derived vans up to 2 tonnes maximum laden weight);
- Cars towing caravans or trailers (including car derived vans and motorcycles);
- Buses and coaches (not exceeding 12 metres in overall length);
- Goods vehicles (not exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight);
- Goods vehicles (not exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight) articulated;
- Goods vehicles (exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight);
